Meet a photographer at Cameron Village Library

Time for Tots at N.C. Museum of History

From 10 to 10:45 a.m., Time for Tots: Look at Lighthouses will give children ages 3-5 (with adult) a chance to learn about North Carolina’s lighthouses, and make their own beacon of light to take home. $1 per child. Events at N.C. Museum of History

From 10 to 11 a.m., History Corner: Beat the Heat! will allow children ages 6-9 (with adult) to discover old-fashioned ways to beat the heat. And from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., History Hunters: Hot Enough for Ya? will investigate summers before electricity for ages 10-13. $1 per child for each event. Call 919-807-7992 to register. Yoga class

A donations-requested yoga class will be held from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at Evolve Movement, 8470 Falls of Neuse Road, Raleigh. The session will focus on adaptive yoga for all skill sets.

Storytime at N.C. Museum of History

From 10 to 10:30 a.m., Storytime in the Gallery will feature a guided tour of a museum gallery and a history-related story. The museum is located at 5 E. Edenton St., Raleigh. For more information, call 919-807-7992.

Free yoga class

A free yoga class will be held at North Regional Library, 7009 Harps Mill Road, Raleigh. Gentle mat yoga will run from 9:10 to 10:30 a.m., and stress reduction with chair yoga (bring two towels) will run from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. Call 919-870-4000 to register.

Friday

Independence Day celebration

Joel Lane Museum House will hold its 23rd annual historic Independence Day open house from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 160 S. Saint Mary’s St., Raleigh. Admission is free, though donations will be taken. The event will include historical reenactments and craft activities. Visit JoelLane.org for more information.

Free fishing day

Enjoy free fishing from 12:01 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. in any public body of water, including coastal waters, without a fishing license.
