Cap Eight all-conference baseball team

Baldy, Dulaney lead league baseball honors

From staff reportsJune 9, 2014

Sanderson’s Connor Baldy and Daniel Dulaney helped lead the Spartans to the Cap Eight title this season.

Baldy, a Pfeiffer recruit, hit .465 to earn Conference Player of the Year honors. Dulaney, a UNC-Greensboro recruit, was named Pitcher of the Year after going 8-1 from the mound with a 0.72 ERA.

Leesville Road’s Ryan Sande was named Newcomer of the Year.

Sanderson’s late-season surge helped the Spartans surpass Millbrook for the conference championship, but Millbrook made a deep playoff run to a three-game regional finals series.

The teams’ coaches, Sanderson’s Todd Laughlin and Millbrook’s Austin James, shared Cap Eight Coach of the Year honors.
