Farm Bureau grants

N.C. Farm Bureau has named the recipients of its Ag in the Classroom Going Local grants. Wake County teachers Joann Blumenfield, Dillard Drive Middle; Jennifer Daniel, Banks Road Elementary; and Ann Hamrick, Cedar Fork Elementary received $500 to provide their students with real-world education and experiences about the agriculture industry.

Parent Academy

Parent Academy: How to support your kindergarten student will be held at:

Millbrook High – 6:30- 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, at 2201 Spring Forest Road, Raleigh.

Sanderson seniors

The Class of 2014 Sanderson High School seniors are invited to the annual SHS Senior Breakfast and Senior parade on the first day of school, Monday, Aug. 26. Breakfast will begin at 6 a.m. at Trinity Baptist Church, 4815 Six Forks Road, Raleigh; followed by the senior car parade at 7 a.m. The event will feature giveaways and prizes for the best decorated car. Thales Academy tour
