Concert in the park
Sunday in the Park will continue at 6 p.m. Sunday, July 28, at Pullen Park, 520 Ashe Ave., Raleigh. The acoustic classic rock cover band 8 Miles Apart will perform. Bring a blanket or lawn chair.

Family film series
“Summer Family Films: Exploration” will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 31, at N.C. Museum of Art, 2110 Blue Ridge Road, Raleigh. Children ages 8 and older will watch the film “Tales of the Night.” The event is free, but a box office ticket is required. For more information, call 919-715-5923.
Raleigh Film Festival
The Raleigh Film Festival will hold its monthly screenings of films by local and national independent directors from 7 to 10 p.m. the first Thursday of each month at Mosaic Wine Lounge, 517 W. Jones St., Raleigh. Screenings will also be held from 7:30 to 11 p.m. the second Friday of each month at Club Phantom, 1505 Capital Blvd., Raleigh. Free Red Hat concert
Red Hat will hold a free concert from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2, at the Red Hat Amphitheater, 500 S. McDowell St., Raleigh. Alternative rock band Silversun Pickups will headline. The concert will be held in celebration of Red Hat’s one-year anniversary sponsorship of the downtown concert venue and serves as a thank you to the downtown Raleigh community. Young at Art exhibit
An opening reception for the Young at Art exhibit will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2, at Blake Street Shops and Studios, 300 Blake St., Raleigh. The exhibit will run through August and will feature artwork made by children ages 6-12.
Outdoor films at NCMA
The N.C. Museum of Art will screen outdoor films through September at Joseph M. Bryan Jr. Theater, 2110 Blue Ridge Road, Raleigh.
