Wake Forest historic home tour

The Wake Forest Historic Preservation Commission and the Wake Forest Woman’s Club will present the biennial Christmas Historic Home Tour from 2 to 8 p.m. Saturday. Thirteen Wake Forest homes and other buildings will be decorated for the holidays and open for viewing as part of the self-guided tour. The event will also feature free bicycle rickshaw and horse-drawn carriage rides, Christmas music and refreshments. For tickets, visit www.wakeforestnc.gov/marketplace.aspx. Cost is $15 until Monday. Glenwood Brooklyn Tour of Historic Homes

The Historic Glenwood Brooklyn Neighborhood Association’s annual Tour of Historic Homes is scheduled for Saturday. Participants will tour structures built as early as 1900 and learn the renovation, restoration and ownership histories while celebrating the holiday season. Merry Mingle fundraising party

The third annual Merry Mingle holiday event is set for 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Marbles Kids Museum, 201 E. Hargett St., Raleigh. The fundraiser will include hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar and a chance to mingle with marketing, advertising, communications and public relations professionals. Proceeds will benefit the Triangle Spokes Group, a nonprofit that raises money to buy new bicycles for needy children. For a donation of $100, groups can decorate a bike helmet to enter in a contest during the event.
