Rebuilding Together receives $30,000
Rebuilding Together of the Triangle, a nonprofit that performs home repairs for low-income homeowners, has received a $30,000 disaster recovery grant from Sears Holdings.
In the wake of the tornadoes that devastated the Southeast in April 2011, money was raised at Sears and Kmart stores in North Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, and Virginia for disaster relief and recovery.
Rebuilding Together of the Triangle, with volunteers from Sears and the community, will make repairs and improvements to a Raleigh Navy veteran’s home, which was damaged by a tornado. Work will include a new roof, siding, insulation and measures to make the home more energy efficient.
