Stein to address Democratic men

N.C. Sen. Josh Stein will address the Wake Democratic Men’s Club on Monday, Feb. 13, at the Clarion hotel in downtown Raleigh. Doors open at 6 p.m., and a plated dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. The program will begin at 7 p.m. RSVP to wakedemmen@wakedems.org no later than 10 a.m. the day of the meeting. Dinner is $17 for members and $20 for nonmembers, which can be paid at the door.

Wake Forest Garden Club

The Wake Forest Garden Club will meet at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14, at Wake Forest Community House, 133 W. Owen Ave. Meetings begin with social time and refreshments. Senior Democrats meeting

The Senior Democrats of Wake County will meet from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, at the Crabtree Marriott Hotel on Glenwood Avenue in Raleigh. Former House Speaker Joe Mavretic will speak. A Dutch lunch will follow.

AARP chapter meeting

The AARP Raleigh-Wake County Chapter 3689 will meet from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, at Abbotswood at Stonehenge, 7900 Creedmoor Road, Raleigh. Earl Ijames, the curator of African-American and community history at the N.C. Museum of History, will speak about black history. Lunch is $7. Those wishing to attend but not eat lunch are welcome. Substitute Teachers Association meeting
