Haslett featured artist at Sunflower Studio

Bekah Haslett is the guest artist from Feb. 10 to March 8 at Sunflower Studio & Gallery, 214 E. Jones Ave., Wake Forest. Haslett paints large, colorful works in oil. Her main focus is landscapes, flowers and oversized vegetables and fruits.

Art classes raise money for charities

Artistic Abandon will hold a fundraiser to benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure as part of its monthly Heart-full Art series at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 5. All art supplies will be provided to paint “Japanese Mountain Cherry Blossoms.” Bring wine, beer or a nonalcoholic beverage, along with any snacks. Cost is $30 per painter.

Artistic Abandon also will hold a fundraiser to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 19. Participants will paint “Spring Sunrise on Pond.” Cost is $35 per painter.
