Police are investigating a report that two men were robbed outside a North Raleigh apartment complex Feb. 28 by a group of five armed men.

The two victims told police they were walking in a parking lot at 5111 New Hope Road about 8 a.m. when five men approached and demanded cash.

"All five [men] had guns - two had long guns, and three had handguns," said Laura Hourigan, a spokeswoman for the Raleigh Police Department.

The robbers stole a wallet and $200 in cash from the men before fleeing in a black four-door SUV, police said. The victims were not injured.

The men all wore black, hooded sweatshirts, black pants and red bandanas over their faces. Detailed descriptions of the suspects were not provided to police.

Raleigh police urge anyone with information about the crime to call the Detectives Division at 919-996-3555 or leave anonymous Crime Stoppers tips at 919-834-4357.
